Test Results
Test results will be available to you by telephone. Please telephone the practice for results after 11am. We will always contact you if further action is needed following receipt of your test results.

Out of Hours
For an illness that cannot wait until the surgery is open please telephone our usual daytime surgery number, 01773 535511, when your call will be redirected to the out-of-hours service. Your needs will be assessed and you will either be given advice or arrangements will be made for you to see a healthcare professional.

Are you aware that rather than having to make an appointment with your GP, you can visit the pharmacy for minor ailments  such as insect bites and stings, coughs, colds, tummy upsets, sunburn and many more minor ailments?

Cancelling your Appointment
If you are unable to attend an appointment with one of the doctors or nurses, please telephone or use the link at the bottom of this page to cancel your appointment.

Practice_-_June_2002_(5)Welcome to

The Newthorpe Medical Centre

The Newthorpe Medical Centre provides the highest quality healthcare to patients in the Eastwood, Newthorpe, Giltbrook, Nuthall, Watnall, Kimberley, Awsworth and Cossall areas. Our doctors, nurses and all our other staff are dedicated to offering a professional service and this surgery website will help us to keep all our patients up to date with news and information about our practice. We will keep it current with any developments or other details that we feel are relevant to you.

As well as a source of information about our practice, the staff and the services we provide, we hope you will use this website to access other health-related information. Please have a look around and do send us some feedback if you like. We can use your ideas to improve our online services and further develop the content of this site.

Access to the practice

The Centre has suitable access for disabled patients. All consulting rooms are on the ground floor. All consulting rooms and the patients' toilet are wheelchair accessible.

As Dr Tedstone will no longer be working at the practice, if you were previously registered with him, Dr Cooley will now be your registered GP but you will still able to see the GP of your choice

We are sad to inform you that Dr Tedstone has decided to leave Newthorpe Medical Practice at the end of this year. We all wish him well in whatever he decides to do next in his life. The partners are very grateful for all his hard work and dedication to the patients and practice over the years.

A message from Dr Tedstone:

“It's been a privilege to work at Newthorpe for 18 years and my thanks in particular go to all the fantastic staff at the surgery and also to those patients whose kind words and deeds have meant so much over the years. I wish all the doctors, nurses, staff and patients the very best for the future and am sure the practice will continue to flourish over the years to come”.

Dr Cooley has already increased his working hours to take over some of Dr Tedstone's sessions and has also been providing a minor surgery service to our patients. We will be looking for a suitable replacement for Dr Tedstone in the New Year.
