Test Results
Test results will be available to you by telephone. Please telephone the practice for results after 11am. We will always contact you if further action is needed following receipt of your test results.

Out of Hours
For an illness that cannot wait until the surgery is open please telephone our usual daytime surgery number, 01773 535511, when your call will be redirected to the out-of-hours service. Your needs will be assessed and you will either be given advice or arrangements will be made for you to see a healthcare professional.

Are you aware that rather than having to make an appointment with your GP, you can visit the pharmacy for minor ailments  such as insect bites and stings, coughs, colds, tummy upsets, sunburn and many more minor ailments?

Cancelling your Appointment
If you are unable to attend an appointment with one of the doctors or nurses, please telephone or use the link at the bottom of this page to cancel your appointment.

Cessation of Pharmacies ordering Prescriptions

We would like to inform our patients that from 11 January 2016 the Newthorpe Medical Centre will no longer be accepting prescription requests made on your behalf by your nominated pharmacy, although the pharmacy will still be able to collect your prescription from us on your behalf 48 working hours after you have ordered it.

This decision has been made by the Partners following concerns about the safety and efficiency of the system.

Please see our website for further details or ask one of our team for further information

Please see item 19 for further information on how you will need to order after 11 January 2016 or click on prescriptions at the side of this page.

Trial Appointment System - (Mondays only)

Due to the high demand for GP appointments on Mondays, the Partners have been looking at ways of ensuring patients get every opportunity for a consultation with a GP. As a result, from the beginning of September the surgery will be trialing a new system which they feel will help with this high demand.

From Monday 7th September, any patient requesting an appointment on a Monday will now receive a call from the doctor first so that the doctor and the patient can decide together the best plan of care. If it is necessary to be seen in order to complete the consultation, the doctor will arrange to see the patient in surgery at a mutually convenient time that day.

This system has proved very successful in other surgeries and we are looking forward to seeing the benefits it will bring to our patients.

Extended Surgery Opening Hours

With effect from 2nd September 2015 surgery will be open for appointments from 7am every Wednesday morning to accommodate those who struggle to get during normal surgery opening times.

There will be three GPs and one nurse available from 7am - 8 am.

Please ask at Reception for more information.
