Antenatal and Postnatal Care

If you are planning a pregnancy please make sure you see one of the doctors or nurses for pre-conceptual advice.

Pregnancy testing is available at the Practice.

Once your pregnancy had been confirmed by a positive test, please make an appointment to see one of the doctors who will discuss your future maternity care and arrange for you to see the midwife, who will work with you to co-ordinate your care. The midwife and GP will organise appointments for you during normal surgery times. Six weeks after your baby has been born you will be seen by a doctor for a postnatal check and at eight weeks both mother and baby will be seen by doctor and nurse.

Family Planning Advice

A confidential contraceptive advice service is offered by all our doctors and nurses, including advice on contraceptive pills, contraception injections, contraceptive implants and coils and natural family planning. Please make an appointment with the practice nurse to discuss your contraceptive needs.

Child Health Clinics

Child Health clinics are held every week on a Tuesday morning, by appointment. Childhood immunisations will be undertaken by one of the practice nurses at these clinics.
